Chimanan's Hat

Chimanan's Hat is an advanced dive site in Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, near the dramatic entrance known as The Rip. This submerged pinnacle rises from deeper waters and attracts impressive marine life due to the nutrient-rich currents flowing through the bay entrance. Divers may encounter Australian fur seals, large schools of fish, colorful sponge gardens, and various shark species. Strong tidal currents make timing critical for safe diving at this site.
