Matty's Crack at Glovers Reef is a beginner-friendly dive through a shallow fissure in the atoll's reef platform. The crack is wide enough to swim through comfortably, with walls covered in colorful sponges, small sea fans, and encrusting corals. Schools of sergeant majors and blue-striped grunts fill the passage, while lobsters and arrow crabs hide in the crevices. Glovers Reef, the most remote of Belize's three atolls, offers pristine conditions with visibility often exceeding 40 meters. The shallow depth and protected location make this an excellent introduction to the exceptional diving this UNESCO-listed atoll provides.
