Bachman's Beach in Nova Scotia is a beginner-friendly shore dive on a sandy beach along the South Shore. The wide beach provides easy entry into sheltered waters where a sandy bottom gradually transitions to rocky reef. The reef areas support typical Atlantic Canadian cold-water species — lobsters, sea stars, urchins, and schools of cunner among the kelp. The sandy expanses between rock outcrops reveal flatfish, moon snails, and burrowing invertebrates. The beach's gentle slope and protected orientation make it a comfortable diving location, particularly pleasant during calm summer conditions when visibility and water temperature are at their best.
