HMCS Saguenay is an advanced wreck dive off Nova Scotia's South Shore on a former Royal Canadian Navy destroyer scuttled as an artificial reef. This decorated World War II warship rests at significant depth with her hull largely intact, providing an imposing underwater monument to naval history. The wreck has become one of Nova Scotia's most important artificial reefs, densely colonized by plumose anemones, sponges, and cold-water corals. Large Atlantic cod, pollock, and massive lobsters have made the destroyer their home. The deep, cold dive requires advanced certification and proper thermal protection, but the historical significance and rich marine ecosystem deliver an unforgettable experience.
