Bayswater in Nova Scotia is a beginner-friendly shore dive offering easy access to sheltered waters in the Halifax area. The site features a gradual entry over a pebbly beach leading to a rocky substrate covered with kelp and Irish moss. The shallow waters host a variety of cold-water invertebrates including sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and numerous species of sea stars. Cunner, sculpins, and winter flounder are common fish sightings. The site is particularly popular for night dives when lobsters emerge from their daytime hiding spots and decorator crabs become active. An excellent training location with interesting marine life at minimal depths.
