Bajo El Norte is an advanced dive to 20 meters off Chile's central coast near San Antonio. This offshore submerged reef rises from the Pacific floor, concentrating marine life where the Humboldt Current flows over the rocky structure. Dense kelp canopies shelter the upper reef while the deeper sections reveal large lobsters, conger eels, and schools of predatory fish. The exposed position means strong currents and surge, demanding advanced diving skills, but the reef's productivity and diverse marine encounters make it a rewarding dive for experienced visitors.
