Punta Argentina is an advanced dive to 28 meters near the Bat Islands (Islas Murciélagos) off Guanacaste in Costa Rica's northern Pacific. This exposed rocky point juts into open ocean and is battered by strong currents that create prime conditions for big-animal encounters. Bull sharks are the headline attraction during the wet season, with multiple individuals often seen on a single dive. The volcanic rock walls descend steeply and are covered with sea fans and sponges, while large schools of jacks, tuna, and barracuda orbit the point. Punta Argentina is considered one of the most reliable bull shark dive sites in the eastern Pacific.
