Brumel is an advanced dive site near the Bat Islands (Islas Murciélagos) off Guanacaste in Costa Rica's northern Pacific. This exposed site is known for its powerful currents and seasonal bull shark encounters that draw experienced divers from around the world. The volcanic rock formations create a dramatic underwater landscape with deep channels and pinnacles where large pelagic species gather. Schools of jacks, tuna, and barracuda patrol the current-swept waters, while the rocky reef supports healthy marine growth. The combination of challenging conditions and exceptional big-animal encounters makes Brumel one of Costa Rica's most thrilling advanced dive sites.
