Las Catalinas North is a beginner-friendly dive at the northern end of the Catalina Islands off Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This more sheltered section of the islands offers calmer conditions than the exposed southern sites, making it accessible to a wider range of divers. The rocky reef features volcanic boulders with healthy marine growth, hosting white-tip reef sharks, moray eels, and schools of tropical fish. During the right season, manta rays may pass through this area as well. Las Catalinas North provides an excellent introduction to the Catalina Islands diving experience without the challenging currents of the more advanced sites.
