Elefante is a beginner-friendly dive near the Catalina Islands off Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Named for an elephant-shaped rock formation, this site features volcanic reef structures creating natural archways and overhangs. The reef hosts a variety of Pacific marine life including pufferfish, trumpetfish, and large schools of grunts, while moray eels and lobsters shelter beneath the rocky ledges. Sea turtles are common visitors, and during the manta season, the nutrient-rich currents may bring these magnificent rays through the area. Elefante combines scenic underwater rock formations with reliable marine life for an enjoyable dive experience.
