Sharks Cave is a beginner-friendly dive at Caño Island Biological Reserve off Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula. Despite its intimidating name, this accessible site features a series of shallow overhangs and rocky alcoves where white-tip reef sharks rest during the day. The friendly and docile sharks allow close observation, making this one of the best sites in Costa Rica for guaranteed shark encounters at shallow depths. The surrounding reef hosts moray eels, lobsters, and diverse tropical fish, while the volcanic rock formations create photogenic swim-throughs and archways. Sharks Cave is a must-dive site for anyone visiting the Caño Island area.
