The Anchor is a beginner-friendly dive site near Drake Bay on Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula, close to Caño Island Biological Reserve. Named for an old anchor resting on the seabed, this site features a rocky reef with gentle terrain suitable for all skill levels. The reef is home to white-tip reef sharks, moray eels, and schools of snappers, while octopuses and nudibranchs hide among the rocks. The warm Pacific waters of the Osa Peninsula offer good visibility and the chance to spot larger marine visitors including manta rays and whale sharks during the right season.
