Acuario

Acuario is a beginner-friendly dive at María la Gorda on Cuba's western Guanahacabibes Peninsula. True to its aquarium name, this sheltered shallow reef teems with an extraordinary density and variety of tropical fish in crystal-clear waters. The reef features pristine hard corals, sea fans, and sponges supporting parrotfish, angelfish, butterflyfish, and schools of blue chromis. Sea turtles and nurse sharks are frequent visitors, and the calm, warm waters provide excellent visibility year-round. María la Gorda's remote location on Cuba's far western tip means minimal diving pressure, keeping Acuario in the pristine condition that makes it feel like diving in a natural aquarium.
