Ballena Moby Dick is a beginner-friendly dive at MarÃa la Gorda on Cuba's Guanahacabibes Peninsula. Named for a whale-shaped rock formation on the seabed, this site features a scenic reef with the distinctive rock as its centerpiece. The surrounding coral gardens support diverse Caribbean fish life including queen triggerfish, blue tangs, and French angelfish. Nurse sharks often rest near the whale rock, and hawksbill turtles cruise through the area. The easy depth and sheltered conditions make Ballena Moby Dick a popular first dive at MarÃa la Gorda, combining a fun underwater landmark with healthy reef exploration.
