Cabeza de Marcel is a beginner-friendly dive at MarÃa la Gorda on Cuba's Guanahacabibes Peninsula. This site features a prominent coral head rising from the sandy seabed, named after a local diver. The formation serves as a natural gathering point for marine life, with schools of grunts, snappers, and jacks circling the coral structure. The coral head itself is covered with healthy brain corals, sea fans, and colorful sponges, while the surrounding sandy areas host garden eels and conch shells. The simple navigation around a single prominent feature makes Cabeza de Marcel an excellent orientation dive and a reliable site for consistent marine life encounters.
