Yemayá is a beginner-friendly dive at MarÃa la Gorda on Cuba's Guanahacabibes Peninsula. Named after the Yoruba goddess of the ocean revered in Cuban SanterÃa tradition, this spiritual site features a serene reef landscape with gentle coral slopes and crystal-clear waters. The reef supports healthy hard coral formations, colorful sponges, and abundant tropical fish including angelfish, butterflyfish, and large schools of blue tangs. Hawksbill turtles are regular visitors, and the calm, protected waters provide excellent visibility. Yemayá's combination of cultural significance and beautiful underwater scenery makes it a unique and memorable dive experience at MarÃa la Gorda.
