Amphitheatre Bay is an intermediate dive site on the northwest coast of Cyprus near the Akamas Peninsula, reaching a maximum depth of 21 meters. True to its name, this site features a natural amphitheatre-shaped rock formation that descends in tiers toward deeper water. The stepped terraces are covered with sponges, sea squirts, and patches of coralline algae. Swim-throughs between the rock tiers shelter moray eels, octopus, and scorpionfish. Open-water species such as bream, barracuda, and amberjack cruise above the reef. The site offers a good balance of topographical interest and marine life diversity, with moderate currents providing nutrient flow to the resident ecosystem.
