Ahorcados is an advanced dive site off Ecuador's southern Pacific coast near the remote Los Ahorcados islets. Powerful currents and open ocean swells create challenging conditions that reward experienced divers with extraordinary pelagic encounters. Hammerhead sharks, Galápagos sharks, and massive schools of jacks patrol the deep blue water around the volcanic pinnacles. The site's isolation and unpredictable conditions mean it is only accessible on calm days, but it ranks among mainland Ecuador's finest big-animal diving destinations.
