Bajo Cope is an advanced offshore dive site in Ecuador's Pacific waters, reaching 16 meters depth on a submerged seamount. Strong currents sweep this isolated underwater plateau, attracting large pelagic species including hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and massive schools of Pacific jack mackerel. The seamount's rocky surface is covered in gorgonians and black coral. The challenging conditions and remote location make boat logistics complex, but Bajo Cope delivers some of the most dramatic open-ocean diving on Ecuador's mainland coast.
