El Muellito — the Little Pier — is a beginner dive in northern Fuerteventura's Corralejo dive zone, named for the small jetty or dock structure that serves the local coastal community and provides both a navigational landmark and an artificial reef habitat in the productive northern waters of the island. The diminutive form of 'muelle' captures both the modest scale of the structure and the accessible, beginner-friendly character of the dive that has developed around it. Corralejo's northern Fuerteventura position gives El Muellito access to the clear, productive water that the channel between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote generates. The small pier sits in this productive zone, and its submerged surfaces have accumulated the encrusting community typical of hard substrate in these nutrient-rich waters: sponge colonies in varied colours, the translucent clusters of sea squirts, and the tube worms that extend their radiolar crowns into the current when undisturbed by diver approach. The structure's modest scale makes it ideal for beginners: the piling bases are close enough to the shoreline for easy access, the depth at the seafloor remains within beginner range, and the defined nature of the structure provides clear navigational reference throughout the dive. This kind of focused, contained diving — exploring a single defined structure — helps beginners develop the observational skills and systematic approach that distinguishes experienced divers from those who simply pass over a reef without seeing what it contains. Common octopus are reliably present at the base of the pilings, their dens marked by the shell debris accumulated from previous meals. Moray eels occupy the shadowed sections under the pier deck, and the sandy bottom around the structure hosts the stingrays and the possible angel sharks that make any sandy Fuerteventura dive worth scanning carefully. Schools of bream use the structure as an orientation point and circulate above the pier in loose formations. A friendly, instructive beginner dive with the specific pleasures of structure diving in northern Fuerteventura's excellent water.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
