Abades Bay is a spectacular shore dive on Tenerife's southeastern coast, set within the ruins of an abandoned leper colony. This beginner-friendly site features a volcanic rocky coastline that extends underwater into a richly diverse reef system. The bay's protected status and clean waters support an abundance of marine life including green sea turtles, which are frequently spotted grazing on algae. Trumpetfish, parrotfish, and large schools of salema inhabit the volcanic formations, while octopuses and moray eels shelter in the crevices. The easy shore entry, reliable conditions, and exceptional biodiversity make Abades one of Tenerife's most beloved dive sites for all levels.
