Abades Mountain is a beginner-friendly dive site near the village of Abades on Tenerife's southeastern coast, featuring an underwater volcanic mountain formation rising from the seabed. This impressive geological feature creates a natural gathering point for marine life, with its slopes covered in algae, sponges, and encrusting organisms. Green sea turtles are one of the main attractions, frequently seen grazing on the algae that covers the mountain's surface. Trumpetfish, parrotfish, and schools of salema populate the formation, while octopuses and moray eels inhabit the rocky crevices. The protected bay and moderate conditions make this an accessible and rewarding dive for all levels.
