Las Piscinas is a beginner-friendly dive site near Tarifa at the southernmost tip of continental Spain, reaching 15 meters depth where the Atlantic and Mediterranean waters meet. Named for the natural rock pools along the shore, this site features volcanic formations that continue underwater, creating sheltered pools and channels rich in marine life. The unique position at the Strait of Gibraltar brings a fascinating mix of Atlantic and Mediterranean species, with dense schools of bream, groupers, and colorful wrasse inhabiting the reef. Strong tidal currents can sweep through the strait, but the sheltered pools provide calmer areas for exploration. The site offers a truly unique biogeographic diving experience.
