Playa Calaverde Embarcadero is an advanced dive site near Águilas on the Murcian coast, accessed from a small jetty that gives the site its name. The underwater landscape features a rugged volcanic reef system dropping steeply into deeper water, with impressive overhangs, crevices, and rocky pinnacles. Large groupers guard the deeper ledges, while conger eels and moray eels inhabit the numerous holes in the rock face. The exposed position brings occasional currents that attract barracuda and amberjack, and the rocky walls are adorned with gorgonians and colorful sponges. The combination of challenging conditions and rich marine biodiversity makes this a rewarding site for experienced divers.
