Abanico Tortuga Diving is an intermediate dive site near Águilas on the Murcian coast, reaching depths of up to 30 meters. The site is named for the fan-shaped coral formations and regular turtle sightings that make it a local favorite. The volcanic rock reef features gorgonian sea fans, sponges, and cup corals decorating the walls and overhangs, while loggerhead turtles are frequently seen cruising through the area. Groupers, moray eels, and schools of Mediterranean fish inhabit the reef, and the deeper sections may reveal eagle rays and dentex. The moderate depth and occasional currents make this site suitable for divers with some experience looking for quality Mediterranean diving.
