Barcoquemao is a deep advanced dive site near Águilas on the Murcian coast, reaching a maximum depth of 37 meters. The site takes its name from a burned boat (barco quemado) whose remains lie on the seabed, now serving as an artificial reef alongside the natural rocky terrain. The deeper profile hosts impressive gorgonian gardens, black coral colonies, and large sponge formations, while groupers, conger eels, and schools of dentex patrol the area. The wreck remnants add historical interest to the biological richness, creating a multi-layered diving experience. Strong currents and depth demand excellent skills and proper gas planning from experienced divers.
