Playa Mellizas is an intermediate dive site near Águilas on the Murcian coast, reaching depths of 30 meters along a scenic underwater reef. The site features twin rocky formations that give the beach its name (mellizas meaning twins), creating a dramatic landscape of ridges, overhangs, and sandy channels. The deeper sections are decorated with gorgonian fans and sponges, while groupers and large moray eels shelter in the overhangs. Schools of barracuda and dentex patrol the open water, and the rich Mediterranean ecosystem supports nudibranchs, sea stars, and anemones on the rock surfaces. Good visibility and interesting topography make Playa Mellizas a rewarding dive for intermediate and advanced divers.
