The Cessna 188 Agwagon is a small agricultural aircraft that was deliberately sunk off the Anse du Souffleur in 2000, after being retired from a failed banana-plantation spraying career in Guadeloupe. Today it rests upright on a sandy bottom at about 23 metres, within easy recreational limits. The wings are largely intact and the cockpit is open to curious divers with basic wreck training. A resident pack of great barracudas often patrols above the wings, lobsters live in the empty fuel tanks, and a handful of moray eels have made the engine bay their home. PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent is the honest minimum. Best conditions run from December through May.
