Grotte aux Barracudas

The Grotte aux Barracudas is one of the top dive sites in Guadeloupe and the one name most visiting divers hear first. A 100-metre underground passage runs along the coast with a ceiling throughout, home to a resident school of great barracudas that hang almost motionless in the dim light. The profile stays around 22 metres, but the overhead environment and narrow sections mean PADI Advanced Open Water with wreck or cavern experience is the honest minimum. A back-up torch is non-negotiable and good buoyancy is what keeps the silt down. A genuine standout that rewards divers who take it seriously.
