Ammoudi Wall is an advanced wall dive near Plakias on the south coast of Crete, where a rocky cliff descends steeply into deeper Mediterranean waters. The vertical face is adorned with gorgonians, yellow sponges, and dense encrusting marine life that give the wall rich color and texture. Groupers and scorpionfish inhabit the ledges and overhangs, while schools of damselfish and anthias create shimmering clouds along the wall face. The deeper sections may reveal amberjack and dentex patrolling the edge. Currents can develop along the wall, contributing to the advanced rating. Ammoudi Wall offers experienced divers some of the most dramatic underwater scenery in the Plakias area.
