Plakias Beach East End is a beginner-friendly shore dive on the south coast of Crete near the resort of Plakias. The eastern end of this beautiful sandy beach provides easy entry to a rocky reef environment with small boulders, sandy patches, and seagrass meadows. The warm, clear Mediterranean waters host octopuses, sea bream, damselfish, and various species of wrasse. The shallow depth and calm conditions within the bay make it ideal for discovery dives and first open water experiences. Plakias Beach is a popular starting point for divers exploring Crete's south coast, with the dramatic White Mountains (Lefka Ori) providing a spectacular backdrop above the turquoise waters.
