Bali is a beginner-friendly dive site on the north coast of Crete near the picturesque resort village of Bali, nestled in a series of small coves between Heraklion and Rethymno. The sheltered bays provide calm conditions ideal for training and discovery dives. Rocky reefs, sandy bottoms, and seagrass meadows create varied habitat supporting octopuses, sea bream, wrasse, moray eels, and colorful nudibranchs. The warm Cretan Sea waters and generally good visibility make diving comfortable from late spring through autumn. Bali's charming village setting with its waterfront tavernas adds to the diving holiday experience, making it a popular base for exploring northern Crete's underwater world.
