Chimney is a beginner-friendly dive near Agia Pelagia on the north coast of Crete, named for a vertical rock formation that creates a natural chimney-like opening in the reef. Divers can ascend or descend through this geological feature, which is wide enough for safe passage with light visible from above. The chimney walls are covered with colourful sponges and small anemones, creating a visually striking experience as you pass through. The surrounding reef offers scattered rocks and Posidonia beds with typical Mediterranean species: wrasse, damselfish, octopus, and the occasional moray eel. The fun topographical feature combined with easy conditions makes Chimney a highlight among Agia Pelagia's dive sites.
