The Anchor is a beginner-friendly dive near Agia Pelagia on the north coast of Crete, centered around a large historical anchor resting on the seabed. This ancient anchor, likely from a sailing vessel of centuries past, serves as an atmospheric focal point and popular photography subject. The surrounding reef features a gentle slope with scattered rocks and sand, hosting abundant Mediterranean marine life. Wrasse, damselfish, and sea bream are common, along with octopus in the rocky areas. The easy depth and calm bay conditions make it ideal for divers of all levels. A dive that combines a touch of maritime heritage with relaxed Cretan reef exploration.
