
Great Cave of Lindos, known as 'Cleobulus Tomb', is an advanced cave dive near Lindos on Rhodes. Legend associates this impressive sea cave with Cleobulus, the ancient tyrant of Lindos and one of the Seven Sages of Greece. The cave features a large main chamber accessible through an underwater entrance, with the interior revealing massive stalactite and stalagmite formations formed when the cave was above sea level during ice ages. The archaeological and geological significance adds depth to the diving experience. Cave-adapted fauna includes lobsters and specialised shrimp. Proper cave training, powerful lights, and experienced guidance are essential. A unique dive merging ancient Greek history with underwater speleology.
