Pachia Ammos Boulders is an advanced dive near Nisyros reaching 40 meters, named after the thick sand ('pachia ammos') beach nearby and the massive underwater boulder field. Enormous volcanic boulders that tumbled from the island's cliffs create a labyrinthine underwater landscape with channels, swimthroughs, and overhangs. The gaps between boulders shelter large groupers, moray eels, and lobsters, while the boulder surfaces are covered with sponges and gorgonian fans. The deeper sections beyond the boulders drop into open water where pelagic species cruise past. The complex terrain demands good navigation skills and the depth requires careful gas planning. An adventurous dive in Nisyros's volcanic waters.
