'The Wall' is a beginner-friendly dive site near Hersonissos on the north coast of Crete, featuring a photogenic underwater wall that descends from shallow to moderate depth. Despite the dramatic name, the wall is gentle enough for new divers, with a gradual slope rather than a sheer drop. The wall face is decorated with colourful sponges, small gorgonians, and anemones that create a vibrant tapestry. Schools of chromis and damselfish hover along the wall, while wrasse and blennies dart between the crevices. Octopus and moray eels are common finds in the rock holes. The wall's orientation catches morning light beautifully, making it an excellent photography dive.
