Cape Korakas Shipwreck is an exciting advanced dive in the North Aegean featuring the remains of a cargo vessel that foundered on this exposed headland. The wreck lies scattered across a rocky seabed, with the hull sections, engine block, and scattered cargo creating an artificial reef that attracts prolific marine life. Large groupers have claimed the wreck as territory, and moray eels inhabit the dark spaces within the hull. The surrounding reef is covered with gorgonians and sponges, while schools of barracuda and amberjack circle overhead. Currents can be strong at the cape, requiring experience with drift techniques. The combination of wreck exploration and vibrant reef ecology makes this a memorable dive.
