Dentex Pass is an advanced dive site in the Peloponnese near the Saronic Gulf, named for the large dentex (common dentex) that frequent this underwater channel between rock formations. The pass creates a natural funnel where currents concentrate, attracting impressive schools of these powerful predatory fish along with amberjack and barracuda. The walls of the pass are covered with dense gorgonian fans and colourful sponge gardens. Deeper sections reveal impressive Mediterranean groupers and the occasional eagle ray gliding through. The strong currents demand confident buoyancy control and experience with drift techniques, but the pelagic action here is among the best in the Peloponnese, making it worth the challenge.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
