Barracuda Dive Point is a beginner-friendly dive site in the Biak Islands of Papua, named for the resident school of chevron barracuda that has made this reef their permanent home. The site features a healthy sloping reef with excellent hard coral coverage and a sandy bottom where the barracuda school forms impressive tornado-like formations that mesmerize divers of all experience levels. Beyond the barracuda, the reef hosts a thriving community of reef fish including emperor angelfish, moorish idols, and various species of butterflyfish. Giant clams nestled among the corals add splashes of vivid blues and greens, while cleaner wrasse stations attract groupers and sweetlips. The calm conditions and shallow profile make this an ideal site for new divers, while the guaranteed barracuda encounters ensure that every dive here delivers a memorable highlight in the pristine, uncrowded waters of Cenderawasih Bay.
