Wundi Cave Point is an advanced dive site in the Biak Islands of Papua, featuring a series of underwater caverns and swim-throughs carved into the limestone coastline. The cave entrances are framed by massive sea fans and barrel sponges, while the interiors reveal stalactites formed during ice-age sea level drops, now colonized by encrusting organisms. Shafts of light penetrate through openings in the cave roof, creating ethereal scenes as silversides swirl in the light beams. The caves connect to an outer wall that drops into the deep blue of Cenderawasih Bay, where grey reef sharks and schooling barracuda patrol. Due to the overhead environment and depth potential, this site requires proper cave/cavern training and experience with limited-visibility navigation. Wundi Cave Point offers Papua's most dramatic cave diving experience, combining geological wonder with the rich marine biodiversity of the Coral Triangle's eastern frontier.
