Deep Corner

Deep Corner is an advanced dive site in the Secret Gilis of Southwest Lombok, where the reef drops steeply to 34 meters at the convergence point of two island walls forming an underwater corner. This topographical feature channels currents and concentrates marine life, making it the Secret Gilis' premier site for pelagic encounters. Grey reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks, and large schools of bigeye trevally frequent the deeper sections, while eagle rays are occasionally spotted gliding through the blue. The corner walls are covered with healthy gorgonian fans, black coral trees, and encrusting sponges that thrive in the current-rich waters. The shallow reef top offers a colorful safety stop among pristine hard coral gardens. Deep Corner demands good buoyancy control and comfort at depth, but delivers the most dramatic big-animal encounters in Southwest Lombok's increasingly recognized dive scene.
