Gili Poh is an intermediate dive site in the Secret Gilis of Southwest Lombok, centered around a small island whose fringing reef descends to 20 meters over a mix of coral slopes and sandy patches. The reef here is notable for its excellent hard coral diversity—fields of mushroom corals, bubble corals, and Acropora thickets create varied microhabitats supporting an impressive range of reef fish species. Seahorses have been spotted among the coral debris near the island's sheltered eastern side, while the more exposed western aspect attracts passing schools of trevally and snapper. The sandy areas between coral formations are home to garden eels and bluespotted ribbontail rays partially buried in the substrate. Gili Poh's combination of accessible depths, healthy reef, and diverse marine life makes it an excellent mid-day dive that satisfies both photographers seeking macro subjects and fish-watchers enjoying the reef's daily rhythms.
