Thalassa House Reef is a convenient shore-accessible dive site in front of the Thalassa dive resort near Manado in North Sulawesi. This gentle slope of volcanic sand and coral rubble is a macro paradise, hosting pygmy seahorses, blue-ringed octopus, mimic octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish, and countless species of nudibranchs. The dark sand creates perfect contrast for spotting tiny creatures, and the site is diveable day and night—night dives here reveal Spanish dancers, bobtail squid, and hunting lionfish. With no current and depths rarely exceeding 15 meters, the house reef is ideal for unlimited muck diving directly from shore, making it one of the best critter-hunting spots in the Manado area.
