Caves is a beginner-friendly dive site in Eilat, Israel, located along the Red Sea's northernmost coral reef. The site features a series of shallow caverns and overhangs carved into the reef structure, creating atmospheric swim-throughs illuminated by shafts of sunlight. The cave ceilings are adorned with orange cup corals and encrusting sponges, while glassfish swirl in silvery clouds at the cave entrances. The surrounding reef boasts excellent hard coral coverage with brain corals, fire corals, and Acropora tables sheltering a rich community of Red Sea endemic species including royal angelfish, masked butterflyfish, and anthias. Moray eels peer from holes throughout the reef, and lionfish hover motionlessly in the shadow of overhangs. The shallow depth and protected conditions make Caves one of Eilat's most popular introductory dive sites, offering new divers an accessible taste of the Red Sea's legendary coral reefs and vibrant marine biodiversity.
