The Lighthouse is a beginner-friendly dive site in Eilat, Israel, one of the city's most popular and accessible shore dives located near a coastal lighthouse. The site offers a gentle reef slope with excellent coral coverage that extends from the shallows to moderate depths, making it ideal for divers of all levels. The reef is home to a fascinating variety of Red Sea species—lionfish hover beneath table corals, moray eels coil in their holes, and colorful nudibranchs crawl across the substrate. Schools of anthias create vibrant clouds of pink and orange above the coral heads, while masked butterflyfish and royal angelfish add splashes of exotic color. The sandy areas between coral formations are worth checking for bluespotted stingrays and garden eels. Night dives at The Lighthouse reveal a completely different cast including Spanish dancers, hunting octopuses, and bioluminescent plankton. This is Eilat's go-to dive site, beloved by locals and visitors alike for its reliability, accessibility, and consistently rewarding marine life encounters.
