Moses Rock is an intermediate dive site in Eilat, Israel, centered on a large boulder formation that sits on the reef slope like a sentinel, creating a focal point for marine life activity. The rock and surrounding reef are covered with healthy hard corals, soft corals, and fire coral, while the sheltered spaces beneath the boulder harbor moray eels, lionfish, and cleaning stations where groupers queue for parasite removal. The site is particularly noted for its rich fish life—large schools of anthias create shimmering curtains of pink and orange above the coral, while surgeonfish, parrotfish, and butterflyfish populate every level of the reef. Octopuses are regularly spotted on the surrounding rubble, and sea turtles occasionally pass through. The moderate depth and generally calm conditions make Moses Rock accessible to intermediate divers, while the density of marine life ensures every dive offers something new. This is a quintessential Eilat dive that captures the essence of Gulf of Aqaba reef diving.
