Jackson's Bar is an advanced dive site in the Andaman Islands, India, where a submerged reef bar extends from the main island shelf into open water, creating a current-swept ridge descending to 32 meters. The bar's exposed position attracts impressive pelagic action—schools of barracuda, trevally, and Spanish mackerel regularly cruise the blue water alongside the reef, while grey reef sharks patrol the deeper drop-off. The reef itself features healthy hard coral coverage and large gorgonian fans oriented to catch the nutrient-laden current. Napoleon wrasse are frequently encountered along the bar, and during peak season, manta rays visit nearby cleaning stations. The depth, distance from shore, and variable currents make Jackson's Bar a site for experienced divers comfortable with drift techniques and deep water management. This is one of the Andaman Islands' premier big-fish sites, offering the kind of open-ocean encounters that define world-class Indian Ocean diving.
