This unnamed wreck site off Kovalam in Kerala, India, features the remains of a vessel resting on the Arabian Sea floor, providing a rare artificial reef habitat along this predominantly sandy coastline. The wreck has been colonized by hard corals, sponges, and algae over the years, transforming the steel structure into a productive marine habitat. Large groupers have established territories within the wreck, while schools of snapper and fusilier circle the structure. Octopuses and moray eels inhabit the interior spaces, and scorpionfish camouflage on the encrusted surfaces. The wreck adds significant variety to Kerala's dive offerings, attracting marine life that would otherwise have limited habitat on the sandy seabed. This site demonstrates how even unnamed and modest wrecks can become important ecological features, concentrating biodiversity and providing fascinating exploration opportunities for divers along India's southwestern coast.
