Faraglioni off Ischia presents towering rock pillars that continue dramatically below the waterline, creating a vertical underwater landscape of overhangs and swim-throughs. The volcanic basalt walls are painted with colorful sponges, sea fans, and patches of false coral in brilliant orange and yellow. Moray eels, grouper, and curious octopus inhabit the many crevices, while damselfish and wrasse provide constant movement in the water column. Gentle currents bring nutrients that sustain this rich ecosystem, making every dive here a visual feast.
